As the Health & Ladders program continues to gain traction within the department, our team continues to strive to be an available resource to meet all of your Health and Wellness needs. From fitness programming, to body composition analysis, to one on one consults with our staffed Dietician,Chloe, there are an abundance of resources available to all the members of the Boston Fire Department. In our inaugural year we focused on getting this program rolled out to the field members with assigned district leads. We happily recognize the significance of Headquarters participation and interest.
With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce that Headquarters personnel will now have their own designated Health & Ladders Leads to support them with the same backing and experience that District Leads bring to the table. Please welcome to the team FF Emily Chen (Engine 03) and FF Peter O'Donnell (Ladder 15). This duo will serve as all HQ personnels Health and Ladders support conduits. You can check out their bio's and backgrounds Here
They have already been hard at work, facilitating training and education sessions at HQ twice weekly the last three weeks. Based on popular demand, starting 10/1 they will be available once per week from 12-4pm or 2-6pm.
This team will continue to be available to provide daily workout support in the gym, teach safe and proper movements of prescribed exercises and guide interested members on their health and wellness journey.
We encourage all BFD employees, uniformed and civilian, to continue to reach out to their respective Health and Ladders Leads to learn more and begin participating.
The Health & Ladders Team
