From your The Health & Ladders Team
It seems like just yesterday we were discussing Memorial Day Murph, scheming for the Job-town Quadrathlon and devising new ways to keep our membership engaged in Health & Ladders initiatives throughout the summer. Yet here we are, already in August.
In this mid-summer issue, we just want to say thank you to everyone who has stayed committed to the monthly firehouse challenges and other health-focused opportunities. Participation and consult rates are higher than we had expected for this time of year, and those numbers speak volumes to how you all view the importance of being physically and mentally prepared for duty.
In addition to building these physical challenges, we had the opportunity to host our first-ever Headquarters event for the uniformed and civilian members of the department, who are as equally vital to our day-to-day operations as the field members. We saw phenomenal participation and engagement during this event, and multiple folks walked away with a new plan or cursory consult with Chloe, our nutritionist.
So, thank you all. Thank you for prioritizing your health, engaging with your Health & Ladders program and demonstrating that if these opportunities are presented to the Boston Fire Department, members will take advantage of them. Have a great rest of your summer and stay safe.
