What is Health & Ladders?
Health & Ladders was created to ensure that all members of the Boston Fire Department have access to the tools they need to ensure a healthy lifestyle throughout their career and after.
What is the Challenge?
​Each district will have the opportunity to participate in a 10 week nutrition and fitness challenge where participants will be given structured workouts and meal guidance to help set them up for success.
Is the Challenge just for people who want to lose weight?
No! Everyone in the District is encouraged to participate even if weight loss isn’t a concern. Our goal is to help people achieve optimal health. For some that will be fitness gains, others it may be a desire to increase energy or a reduction in body fat percentage or biomarkers such as cholesterol and blood pressure.
Do I have to be physically fit to participate?
Absolutely not. The division and district leaders will help craft a program that is personalized to you whether you are just starting your fitness journey or an experienced gym go-er.
Who do I go to if I have specific questions throughout the program and challenge?
